I suppose for some, modifying or editing a save file is THE only way they can play a game competently whilst the rest of us toil away at it the hard way! Lol! This is sad to see man - nuts but sad! I almost had a heart attack seeing that toughness value?! Lol! And I have yet to hear from someone reaching layer 999 without using critical LW for at least a huge portion of the way. Hell, I know the only chance I'll ever reach Abyss layer 999 is with Perfect Susanoo, the combat rooms become way too much repitition otherwise already at layer 100-200 and I can't be bothered to fight a boss like Date, Sanada or Maria "legitimately" and without cheese each couple of layers. Of course these builds aren't TN's expectation for someone just entering WotN, but TN has buffed and incentivized this kind of play time and time again and nerfed many other non-LW builds so it's simply one of the most convenient and simple solutions for people playing WotN and beyond. I don't think many people enjoy that style of play.īut my comment wasn't about whether or not higher difficulties put an emphasis on getting more powerful which I didn't even think was up to debate, but about many popular endgame builds like Perfect Susanoo being able to kill next-to everything in 1 or 2 hits (or LW strong attack-combos), so there are certainly lots of people who don't find it pointless as you said to make a 1HKO-build. Team Ninja built the higher difficulties with the gear optimization in mind and with the notion that the player always tries to push the boundaries of how powerful he can be, because without that, WotW and WotN (and even to some extend WotD) become a tedious chore where you need many dozens, possibly hundreds of hits to kill a single enemy, let alone a boss, but every enemy takes you out in a single hit. It might not be much fun to 1-hit everything for most people, but the same can be said for taking possibly over a minute to kill even the simplest mob enemy on something like WotN that you might have already fought literally hundreds of times at that point. Never said that WotN would be impossible without Perfect Susanoo or any other build of that caliber, but there's barely an incentive for players to go into higher difficulties if they aren't interested at least to some extend in the build and gear optimization process and all that comes with it.
